Wealthy couple Small Laude and Philip Laude became a trending topic last December because of the alleged screenshots of the latter’s private conversations with his alleged “mistress.”

On January 16, Philip filed a petition for writ of habeas data against Mae Larra Sumicad, also known as Precious Larra Su who shared the screenshots seemingly insinuating her alleged romantic connection to the businessman.

Small Laude is known as a socialite-vlogger who popularized the tagline, “No bashing. It’s for fun! Of course!”

She was born Marissa Eduardo and came from a family with a background in business, based on the article in PEP. Her sister is Alice Eduardo who is known as Woman of Steel in the world of business. Their other sister Melba Solidum is also a businesswoman.

She studied at St. Paul University and her friends would describe her as outgoing and have a bubbly personality.

Philip Laude is from a family that owns Candyman, the 65-year-old company. This company is known for its sweet products such as Kendi Mint, White Rabbit, Orange Kist, and Viva.

Philip inherited their family’s business. He studied at De La Salle University. He and Small met through a common friend. His personality is quiet and he seems to be reserved which is contrary to his wife’s personality.

In past interviews, the wealthy couple shared that Philip felt intensely in love with Small for being “the prettiest person.”

When they guested on Vicki Belo’s vlog released on May 3, 2024, they shared that when they met, they were not single. Small shared that she found Philip slightly annoying when they had a group dinner.

Initially, Small’s mother disapproved of Philip when she learned that he came from a Chinese family. It was also Philip’s first time to date someone who was not from a Chinese family. When they were dating, Small’s sister Alice was their third wheel.

They tied the knot on October 31, 1993, after dating for seven years. During their first three years of being married, Small and Philip had a hard time having a child. Eventually, they were able to have a child and now have four children, through medical interventions. They also admitted that they tried doing the Obando fertility rites, a traditional Filipino dance ritual believed to be helping couples conceive.
