Regine Velasquez talked about her upcoming projects
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez said that she is ready for her acting comeback and she has already done the first step.
Regine has been in the industry for more than four decades. She is considered a queen in the music industry. Her achievements as a singer have become an inspiration to many younger artists.
Somehow, she became the standard of belting in the Philippine music industry. Regine’s voice echoed until the new generation. Aside from her singing career, Regine also has a successful acting career.
She did hit movies in the past but in recent years, she took a break from acting. In a recent interview for her upcoming concert RESET, based on the article in Bandera, Regine Velasquez expressed that she is ready for acting projects again.
She said that she is more open now and if there is a project that will offered to her, and if the role is good, she is ready to consider it.
“Parang ang tagal na rin, parang five years na rin akong hindi umaarte, although maarte lang ako talaga ‘ko!” the singer jokingly said. When asked about the sitcom that she and her husband OPM icon Ogie Alcasid were supposed to do, Regine said that they can’t do anything about this since ABS-CBN was not allowed to renew its franchise.
Regine also shared that she already talked to Viva Entertainment’s Boss Vic del Rosario regarding her intention to go back to acting. That meeting was the first step. She is now waiting for the actual script.
“Gan’un iyon, they will give you stuff first, then you will choose one you are comfortable to do,” she shared. The seasoned singer also said that as much as possible, she does not want a heavy drama as the first project for her acting comeback.
Regine Velasquez shared that since her last acting project was five years ago, she needs to get used to the grind first before doing complicated characters.
