Vic Sotto had this main reason for filing a case against Darryl Yap
The legal counsel of Vic Sotto said that the daughter of the Eat Bulaga host experienced bullying in school due to the Pepsi Paloma movie teaser.
Director Darryl Yap released the first teaser of his new movie on New Year’s Day. This shocked many people and mixed reactions were expressed online. Despite the negative reactions he received, the director stood firm with his intention to share the story of Pepsi Paloma.
Her story involved the biggest names in the Philippine entertainment industry. Records stated that the late actress filed a case against Vic, Joey de Leon, and Richie D’Horsie. Speculations also surfaced that Tito Sotto played a big role in why the case was retracted.
As an answer to the controversial teaser, Vic Sotto filed 19 counts of cyber libel against Direk Darryl Yap. In an interview after filing the case, the veteran comedian-host said that he is against irresponsible people, especially online.
In his response to the case filed against him, the director said anyone can file a case as people have the liberty to do this. However, he stressed that it was recorded that Pepsi filed a case and it was just retracted.
The director also shared that he will hold a press conference to answer questions about this matter.
In a recent episode of Cristy Ferminute on True FM 105.9, based on the article in Bandera, host Cristy Fermin, with her co-host Romel Chika, interviewed Atty. Buko Dela Cruz, Vic’s legal counsel.
“’Yung bata (Tali) binu-bully sa eskwelahan,” the lawyer said. It was said that if it was just him alone, Vic would not file a complaint because he is already used to this kind of promotion.
Atty. Dela Cruz also said that this kind of “pakulo” is being used to sell a movie. and it is normal.
“Kaya lang ang sabi niya (Vic) ang hindi niya matatanggap at kailangan na niyang palagan at umaksyon ay ‘yung kanyang asawa o pamilya ay nadadamay na,” Vic’s legal counsel said.
The lawyer added that Vic’s family has been receiving threats, especially his wife Pauleen Luna. “Yes, may mga r@pe threats, may threat na kikidnapin ang anak at ‘yung bata binu-bully sa eskuwelahan,” he stressed.
Vic could not accept these things that that his family is being dragged into “iresponsableng paghahayag ng mga bagay na wala naming katotohanan.”
Atty. Dela Cruz also stressed that they filed the complaint because of the teaser and not the movie. It does not matter to their camp regarding the ending of the movie because the teaser video is already a “paninira.”
