Rufa Mae Quinto said she wanted to meet people who filed complaints against her
Comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto stayed overnight at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) detention center after she surrendered voluntarily.
Rufa Mae is facing 14 counts of violation of Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code. A warrant of arrest was issued against her while she was out of the country. On January 8, the comedienne returned to the Philippines and chose to surrender immediately to the authorities.
However, Rufa Mae stressed that she is also a victim. To recall, her name was dragged into an investment issue involving the skincare company Dermacare because she was one of the celebrity endorsers.
On January 9, ABS-CBN News shared a video showing that Rufa Mae Quinto stayed overnight at the NBI facility. Despite the cases filed against her, her comedic side can still be seen as she interacts with the interviewer.
The comedienne shared that she was able to sleep and take a rest. When asked about the bruise on her chin, Rufa Mae shared that it was because she passed out because of stress. She said that the medical personnel said that her blood pressure increased.
“Pwede palang mangyari yun na kahit anemic ka, mag high blood ka sa sobrang stress,” she said. The jet lag she felt was also one of the factors why she passed out. The comedienne also said that the NBI personnel guarded her.
It will be recalled that aside from Rufa Mae Quinto, a warrant of arrest was also issued against celebrity entrepreneur Neri Miranda and she was arrested while she was at an event. Just like Neri, Rufa Mae also had no idea at first that a warrant of arrest was already issued against them.
