The former manager of Ruru Madrid believed that he would have an acting award
Kapuso actor Ruru Madrid received the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 Best Actor in a Supporting Role award and his personal assistant shared a post about this.
Ruru has come a long way since he started his career as an actor. From doing supporting roles in teleseryes, he was given a chance to portray lead roles. The biggest break that he has on the big screen was given to him by GMA through the film Green Bones.
In the movie led by MMFF 2024 Best Actor Dennis Trillo, Ruru played the character of Xavier Gonzaga, a jail guard whose backstory affected the life of the lead character.
Many moviegoers praised Ruru Madrid’s performance in this inspiring movie and the jurors also saw his effort to make his role realistic. Even Dennis praised Ruru in his performance in the movie. When his name was called for the Best Supporting Actor award, Ruru’s reaction was priceless.
After the awarding ceremony, his personal assistant Anton Cesario, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, shared a post about the award that he received. Anton said that Ruru’s former manager, the late director Maryo Delos Reyes, including him, has been manifesting that someday the actor will go up on stage to receive his acting award and this happened this year.
“Noon pa lang, namamanifest na namin ni Direk Maryo J. Delos Reyes na balang araw darating ang oras na aakyat ka sa stage para tumanggap ng mga parangal. Kaya kung nabubuhay man si Direk Maryo–na siyang unang naniwala sa iyong talento at naging manager mo–siguradong super happy siya sa lahat ng magagandang natatamasa mo ngayon, lalo na ang award na natanggap mo kagabi sa MMFF,” Anton shared.
Ruru’s personal assistant also shared that the actor went through a lot of hardships in the entertainment industry. All his effort, hard work, and sacrifices paid off as people are now recognizing his ability. Anton said that he is indeed so proud of Ruru that he wanted to shout out to the whole world.
He also reminded the Kapuso actor to stay humble and grounded. “Congratulations sa aming Best Actor in a Supporting Role – Ruru Madrid!” the actor’s personal assistant wrote in a Facebook post.
Aside from the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor awards, Green Bones was also hailed as the Best Picture.
