Darryl Yap wants to tell the story of Pepsi Paloma
Director Darryl Yap clarified something about his upcoming movie featuring the story of the late sultry actress Pepsi Paloma.
Pepsi rose to fame during the 80s as one of the Softdrink Beauties. Her death was a controversial topic in the entertainment industry and until now, mysteries surrounding her passing away are still kept in the dark.
Rumor has it that she took away her own life after a tragic incident happened to her. For so many years, it has been rumored that showbiz personalities Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and the late Richie D’Horsie abused her.
However, some personalities also debunked that rumor, like Pepsi Paloma’s fellow Softdrink Beauty Coca Nicolas. In an interview early this year, Coca said that their manager was the one who fabricated the story and forced Pepsi to accuse the three male personalities.
A few months ago, Direk Darryl Yap announced that he would be doing a movie about the late sultry actress and this stirred the online community. Some showed support for the director while some bashed him even though the movie is not yet released.
In a recent post that he shared on his Facebook Page, Direk Darryl stressed that he would just be put in danger if he made a movie based on real accounts he would put lies into it.
“HINDI KO IPAPAHAMAK ANG SARILI KO. HINDI AKO MAGSISINUNGALING,” he stressed. He also said that he has no personal or political motive in doing the movie The Rapists Of Pepsi Paloma. The director also pointed out that his producer in this movie is not an enemy of the Sotto family. “Wala akong masamang tinapay sa TVJ,” Direk Darryl said.
For the director, it is not difficult to tell the truth, especially if it is about his fellow Kapangpangan.
“Si Pepsi Paloma ay Taga-Olongapo, tulad ko. Responsibilidad kong ibandera ang kwento ng aking lungsod at mamamayan nito. MAGANDA MAN O MALAGIM,” he said.
Prior to this, Direk Darryl Yap teased the actress who will portray the character of Pepsi Paloma in his movie. He also showcased that veteran actress Gina Alajar will be part of the film as the late Charito Solis.
