Judy Ann Santos talked about her showbiz journey
Prominent drama actress Judy Ann Santos recalled the negative comments she received when she was younger that almost made her quit showbiz.
From being a child star, Judy Ann, also known as Juday, showcased her acting caliber through the different characters she portrayed over the years.
Now, she is known as one of the A-list stars of her generation and her longevity in the entertainment industry is an inspiration to many younger artists.
However, there was a time in her career that she almost quit. Judy Ann Santos was still young back then. In this era, bashing is the term for negative comments online. Years ago, celebrities were battling against negativity through blind items.
In an interview in PEP, Juday shared that there were times when she asked herself why she was in showbiz.
“Sabi nila mukha akong siopao. Sabi nila para akong aparador. Sabi nila nagkamata at ilong lang ako, pag ngumiti ako, buhay na siopao na ako. Tapos, pag tinitingnan ko yung sarili ko sa umaga, parang totoo nga,” she laughingly said.
There was a feeling that she was not needed in the industry. She recalled the time when she was feeling tired and negativity would be thrown at her. With her young age, she was not thinking that bad publicity was still publicity, and this really affected her.
Those were the times when she said to herself, “Ayoko na!” She also admitted that back then, she would resort to drinking alcohol. However, this would result in negative write-ups.
At that time, she did not know who her real friends were. Then, she decided to just mingle with a small circle of friends and they would drink in private places.
“And then eventually, nakuha ko na yung vibe na gusto ko na pang small group lang pala talaga ako. Hindi pala ako pang-barkada package. Yung gusto ko mas intimate na kuwentuhan, ayoko pala nung labas ng labas,” she shared.
Eventually, Judy Ann Santos realized that she also needed to let herself have the reset she deserved.
