The ultimate crown was not bagged by Chelsea Manalo but she got this title instead.
PH bet Chelsea Manalo was eluded by the crown but before the pageant concluded, she bagged the Miss Universe Asia title.
Chelsea Manalo is the Philippines delegate for the Miss Universe 2024 pageant, however, she finished in the Top 30 despite her commanding performance in the swimsuit portion. Miss Denmark Victoria Kjaer Theilvig is Miss Universe 2024 and the runners-up are:
1st Runner-up: Nigeria
2nd Runner-up: Mexico
3rd Runner-up: Thailand
4th Runner-up: Venezuela
Apart from these names, continental queens were also named and they were:
Miss Universe Asia – Philippines
Miss Universe Europe and Middle East – Finland
Miss Universe Americas – Peru
Miss Universe Africa and Oceania – Nigeria
PH’s delegate is the first Miss Universe Asia and according to her, she was surprised for bagging the title. In an interview with journalist Dyan Castillejo, it “was a surprise”. She then shared that they were taken in a room and that was where the announcement was made.
“It was a surprise. They took us [to] a room, then that’s when they announced to us that we have been selected to be the Miss Continental queens,” she shared.
They do not have any schedules yet but they are going to be with the winner to go to different countries and work on various initiatives. She may ended her journey in the Top 30 but she is happy. Being in the pageant has made her happy as the dream of the little girl in her has come true.
“I’m so happy I was with so many powerful women,” she added. She is grateful for the support she received throughout her pageant journey.
The Miss Universe Asia title is introduced this year as part of a bigger initiative to recognize the beauty and diversity of different regions.
