Kathleen Hermosa stressed her point on not liking Labubu
Content creator Kathleen Hermosa reacted to the negative reactions that she received after expressing her thoughts on the Labubu craze.
This toy has been around for quite some time already but has gained popularity in many countries, especially in Asia, this year. In the Philippines, many celebrities have showcased their collection of Labubu bag charms and toys. Eventually, this somehow became a status symbol.
However, Kathleen had a different opinion about this. She reposted a Facebook post claiming that Labubu is a “Devil’s Pet” and it has a dark or bad connotation contrary to the faith she believes.
Kathleen Hermosa received different reactions to what she expressed. Some netizens agreed with her as they also didn’t find Labubu cute. On the other hand, some netizens expressed negative reactions to what she said and accused her of just being a “killjoy”, showing crab mentality, and imposing on others what she believes.
In a Facebook post that she shared after the bashing that she received, Kathleen stressed that she was not preaching or insinuating anything and that she was just reminding the public to be vigilant.
She also said that she researched this, who created this and where it came from. The content creator said that it has no issue with her if it does not symbolize anything but upon researching, she saw a labubu toy with “666” which is believed by many people as the symbol of the devil.
“This photo is already enough for me that this is not good. This is not good for me,” she said adding that it still depends on the other people what they think about this.
She also addressed some of the negative comments on what she posted like she can’t just be happy to the success of the toy. For Kathleen, if this is something good and no negative connotation, it is okay for her but she stressed that she really doesn’t find the toy cute. Kathleen Hermosa said that this matter has nothing to do with the crab mentality issue.
