Miss Grand Myanmar Reveals the Emotional Story Behind Her Tears
MISS GRAND MYANMAR – Miss Grand Myanmar Thae Su Nyein revealed the reason why she cried after the coronation.
Thae Su Nyein, held a livestream on the afternoon of October 27 to explain her reactions during the final night of the pageant. According to Thae Su Nyein, she values her title as second runner-up and was not disappointed about not winning the Miss Grand title.
She said she cried after the final night due to her feelings of regret for her supporters and the team from Myanmar, who had been diligent in their support and voting for her from the start of the competition until the last night.
Thae Su Nyein also denied rumors that Soe Min Tun, the National Director of Miss Grand Myanmar, threw the crown on the floor. She explained that Soe Min Tun only helped her remove the crown when he noticed she looked like she might faint.
Out of fear, Soe Min Tun accidentally dropped the crown. Regarding the issue of Soe Min Tun allegedly scolding reporters, Thae Su Nyein clarified that the National Director did this because someone had attempted to approach her, which could have posed a safety risk.
She also explained her emotional reaction to her national costume performance. Thae Su Nyein expressed her disappointment because she wasn’t able to carry out all her team’s plans on stage. She pointed out that a lot of preparation had gone into that national costume.

Towards the end of her livestream, she made a controversial statement that she didn’t need the title of second runner-up and chose to prioritize the support of her National Director.
As for Miss Grand organization Chairman Nawat, stated that the second runner-up title was appropriate for Thae Su Nyein because she lacked the emotional composure required to be a beauty queen.
Miss Grand International is a prestigious beauty pageant founded in 2013. This competition aims not only to find the most beautiful women from different countries but also to promote advocacies for peace and social change.
