Pageant fans are going back to the performance of Catriona Gray

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray became one of the top trending topics on X, formerly Twitter, after the Miss Grand International 2024 pageant.

Catriona was hailed as the fourth Pinay Miss Universe following the pageant success of Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran, and Pia Wurtzbach.

Her performance in the Miss Universe pageant in 2018 will never be forgotten by many Filipino pageant fans because she is regarded as the one who set the bar higher.

For the longest time, Catriona Gray has been included in the top trending topic on X every time an international pageant concluded and the Philippines did not win the crown. This happened again after the Miss Grand International 2024 pageant.

Christine Juliane “CJ” Opiaza represented the Philippines for this year’s MGI pageant. During the pageant, Pinoy pageant fans applauded her performance, and because of this anticipation that she would bring home the crown rose up.

The final moment came when Miss India and Miss Philippines were holding each other’s hands as the winner was set to be announced. Rachel Gupta of India was hailed the Miss Grand International 2024. Because of this, CJ Opiaza is the first runner-up.

After this announcement, many Pinoy pageant fans were saddened, and as part of their coping mechanism, they watched the Miss Universe performance of Catriona. Some even reiterated that Catriona is the standard and that fans would keep on coming back to her performance every time the Philippines’ representative fails to bring another pageant crown.
