Yassi Pressman was dragged into the issue involving Luigi Villafuerte
Camarines Sur Representative LRay Villafuerte, the father of Camarines Sur Governor Luigi Villafuerte, denied that they were in Siargao while their constituents suffered from the strong winds and rain brought by typhoon Kristine.
The Bicol Region has been a devastating sight these past few days. Heavy rain and strong winds covered the region. Bicolanos have been crying for help as they shared photos and videos of flooded areas and destroyed properties on social media.
With this dire situation, the Bicol Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) shared a statement on Facebook that they were overwhelmed by the typhoon’s effect and they weren’t able to handle fully the rescue operations.
Amid the suffering that Bicolanos experienced, photos of Gov. Luigi Villafuerte and his girlfriend actress Yassi Pressman enjoying a vacation in Siargao circulated on social media. They were also with CamSur Rep. LRay Villafuerte.
Because of this, the father and son politicians were criticized on social media as they were accused of not taking care of their constituents amid the calamity.
The criticism did not sit well with Rep. Villfuerte. Based on the article in PEP, the congressman lambasted those who accused them of being in Siargao amid typhoon Kristine. He stressed that this “fake news” was propagated by people behind fake accounts.
“Kasinungalingan at hinde tutoo ito ! Dahil Alam ng mga taga camsur na puro panira at daldal lang ang aming mga kalaban at wala natutulong kaya gusto lang nila gumawa ng fake news para siraaan kami !” the lawmaker said.
He explained that those photos were taken last Saturday. They were with SK members of CamSur and they all returned home on Monday.
“Lumang style na yan gawa nyo mga ul*l , hinde nyo kaya lokohin mga Tao ! Ilan election nyo na yan ginagawa para siraaan kami . Alam ng Tao and tutoo , mas alam ng tao ang fake news!” he stressed.
Luigi Villafuerte’s father also said that their political opponents were behind this allegation against them. The congressman asserted that the Villafuerte family is helping their constituents amid typhoon Kristine. Gov. Villafuerte shared a post showing their rescue operation.
