Senate Pushes for POGO Kingpin Lin Xunhan’s Testimony in Major Gaming Scandal
POGO KINGPIN – Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian announced that the Senate is seeking to invite alleged Philippine offshore gaming operations (POGO) kingpin Lin Xunhan, also known as Lyu Dong, as it concludes its investigation into organized crime linked to illegal POGOs.
The Senate is moving to invite Lin Xunhan, alias Lyu Dong, a suspected kingpin of illegal POGOs, as the investigation into organized crime behind these activities nears its conclusion, according to Gatchalian.
The Senate seeks to explore Lin’s connection to dismissed Bamban mayor Alice Guo, along with their potential involvement in POGO hubs raided in Porac, Pampanga, and Bamban, Tarlac. “This Mr. Lin, alias Boss ‘Boga,’ has a lot to reveal about POGO and how Guo Hua Ping is related to POGO operations,” Gatchalian remarked, referencing Guo’s alleged Chinese name.
Gatchalian emphasized the need to uncover who else might be backing Lin, noting that the investigation aims to expose the larger network behind these illicit activities.
Lin’s recent arrest in Biñan, Laguna, alongside 12 other Chinese nationals and nine Filipino associates, has brought him under scrutiny. The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) has identified Lin and Guo, also known as “Madam Wah,” as partners responsible for the construction of a POGO hub at Baofu Land Development compound in Bamban, Tarlac.
Reports also suggest that Lin allegedly ordered the torture of trafficked individuals forced to participate in scams at various POGO hubs he controlled nationwide. PAOCC considers him a “pioneer” of the POGO syndicate, with his alias “Hao Hao” meaning “boss of the boss.” Guo, when questioned by the Senate, declined to name Lin as the person threatening her life after her arrest.
According to the report, Sen. Gatchalian stated that Lin’s testimony could be crucial to understanding the deeper layers of illegal POGO operations in the country. The Senate committee on women and children, responsible for investigating illegal POGOs, plans to directly question Lin about his involvement.
Meanwhile, efforts to summon self-confessed Chinese spy She Zhijiang, who accused Guo of being a fellow Chinese Communist Party agent in an Al Jazeera documentary, have hit a roadblock. She is currently detained in Thailand and has been moved to maximum security, complicating efforts to reach him.
