To recall, Julie Anne was criticized by netizens after her video performing the classic ABBA song Dancing Queen inside the Catholic church went viral. Many netizens pointed out that it was inappropriate for her to do that inside the place where devotees would perform their worship activities.
However, Julie Anne was also defended by her supporters. In a statement released by Sparkle GMA Artist Center, the company said that it is taking full responsibility for what happened and stressed that it could have communicated with the event organizers regarding this matter.
Julie Anne San Jose also saw the need to apologize, and she broke her silence by sharing a post saying she was sorry for what happened. She explained that she had no intentions to disrespect other people.
The Kapuso singer-actress also received support from Neil Arce. Angel Locsin’s husband shared a post on his Facebook page sharing his thoughts on what happened. For him, there was no need for Julie Anne and her management to issue an apology.
“Saw The issue about Julie Anne San Jose singing In church. I saw her and her network apologize as well. Why apologize? Lets all remember we were made In his image and likeness. We have a sense of humor because God has a sense of humor, we enjoy listening to music and seeing people dance because God likes listening to music and seeing people dance as well!” he wrote.
He also stressed that Julie Anne was given that kind of talent to share with other people. “I guarantee you mas hindi nagustuhan ng diyos ang mga nag Judge sa kanya,” Neil added.
