Rabiya Mateo talked about one of her dreams in showbiz
Kapuso actress Rabiya Mateo shared that it is her dream to be slapped by seasoned “kontrabida” actress Jean Garcia.
From being a beauty queen, Rabiya was able to transition into being an actress. After representing the Philippines in the international pageant, she signed a contract with Sparkle GMA Artist Center.
Rabiya was given different acting and hosting stints as a Kapuso star. She was previously part of the morning variety show Tiktoclock. Among her recent acting projects is an episode for the Kapuso drama anthology Magpakailanman.
This will be aired on September 28 and in a recent episode of Chika Minute, some behind-the-scenes clips were shown. In that episode, Rabiya Mateo shared there one scene that she hopes she can do with Jean Garcia.
“Pangarap ko ‘yun na mabingi sa sampal ni Ms. Jean Garcia,” Rabiya shared. Based on what Rabiya said, she appeared to be watching the Kapuso murder mystery series Widow’s War in which Jean is one of the main characters. Previously, Rabiya was also part of the murder mystery series Royal Blood.
Jean has been known for her “kontrabida” roles. She has done remarkable antagonist characters that highlight the antagonists’ stories. Among her most iconic “kontrabida” roles was Madam Claudia Buenavista in the original Pangako Sa’yo series featuring Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa.
Meanwhile, Rabiya Mateo spoke about the unfollowing issue and her rumored breakup with actor Jeric Gonzales. She said that she blocked her boyfriend on Instagram during the time when she had “topak” because of her monthly period.
Because netizens noticed that they were not following each other on social media, speculations surfaced that they broke up. Rabiya also stressed that she and Jeric are still together.
