“Guess The Bill”: Samantha Panlilio Clarifies Warning About This Trend

Samantha Panlilio shared her thoughts on “Guess The Bill” trend

Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2021 Samantha Panlilio has this warning to the general public and not just beauty queens regarding the “Guess The Bill” trend.

This trend became controversial just recently because of the video that social media personality Emman Atienza shared on TikTok and this was criticized by many netizens. Emman is the youngest daughter of seasoned Kapuso host Kim Atienza.

Netizens did not like what Emman and her friends did in the video as they guessed their bill after having a meal in an expensive restaurant. They were accused of being insensitive.

Emman defended herself and her friends against the negative reactions online. One of her friends in the viral video was reigning Miss World Philippines Krishnah Gravidez. Kuya Kim’s daughter stressed that it was one of their friend’s birthday and her agency offered to pay for their dinner.

Based on the article in Inquirer, Samantha Panlilio reacted to this “guess the bill” trend. She reminded beauty queens to be aware of being insensitive.

There are a lot of people struggling and the economy is still recovering sadly from COVID, right? So I think let’s just be more sensitive and aware. And kung hindi mo kailangang magyabang, ‘wag na. What’s the point, diba?” Samantha said.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Samantha explained her statement. She said that it was for the general public and not just directed to Krishna. The beauty queen stressed that she and Krishna are friends.

She also said that she was not fully aware of what happened in the viral video that received negative reactions.

Guys hinay lang, Krishna is a very good friend of mine. I was asked a general question about how I feel about beauty queens (again, in general) flashing their dinner bills worth 100,000 pesos. I was not aware of the whole context nor that it was pertaining to a social media challenge done by a specific group of people,” Samantha Panlilio wrote in her tweet.
