Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Meets w/ Predecessor Leni Robredo Whose in Naga for the Peñafrancia Festival
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President visited her predecessor, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo, in Naga City and they talked for an hour.
During the 2022 Elections, the rival parties include the teams of Bongbong Marcos-Sara Duterte and Leni Robredo-Kiko Pangilinan. The BBM-Sara tandem won the presidential and vice presidential races. Prior to the election, throughout their terms, then President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Vice Pres. Leni Robredo did not work smoothly with each other.
Duterte and Robredo have exchanged strong statements against each other for significant times. She was a critic of some of the programs of the Duterte administration including the war on drugs which is faced with several accusations and issues.
Meanwhile, visibly, both Duterte and Robredo did not hold much of their spars during their term and both live more private lives now although they will always be part of the Philippine politics.
Following the result of the Elections 2022, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo congratulated Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Recently, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s daughter also visited her predecessor, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo, in Naga City.
The information about the visit of the Vice President to her predecessor was revealed by Robredo’s spokesperson, Barry Gutierrez. Based on a report on GMA News, Gutierrez expressed that the former Vice President was in Naga for the Peñafrancia Festival.
According to Robredo’s Spokesperson, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte visited former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo at her house in Naga. The former Vice President was only informed of the visit minutes prior when Duterte was already on her way.
Based on the report, Duterte and Robredo talked for about an hour. As to their conversation, the spokesperson of the former Vice President said that it was “personal and not political”.
Undeniably, the visit of Duterte to Robredo is a surprise to many people considering the previous clash between the former Vice President and Duterte’s father, former PRRD. Meanwhile, when all is well, who would not want it?
Recently, the public witnessed the falling out of the ties between Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Vice Pres. Duterte even apologized to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ members for seeking their support for Marcos during the elections amid the intensified search for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy happening under his administration.
Duterte also claimed that she will “never again” team up with the Marcoses in the future elections. According to the Vice President, she and the President did not start as friends as it is really his sister, Senator Imee Marcos, who is her friend. She stressed that they talked starting the election campaign and their conversations were purely about the election and work.
The Office of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also released a statement on her visit to Vice Pres. Robredo in Naga. She also heard a mass and went to several prominent people in Bicol.
