Sheryn Regis Says She’s Proud Of The Success of ‘Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw’
SHERYN REGIS – Filipina singer Sheryn Regis said she’s proud pf the success of her song ‘Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw.’
The original song by Sheryn Regis, “Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw”, became more well-known when it was revived by Morissette. Sheryn is extremely proud of the success of her song after it was revived by her fellow Kapamilya singer.
This song was originally released by Sheryn in 2021 under Star Music. “Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw” gained more recognition when Morissette recorded her version, which was released the following year.
Currently, Morissette’s version has over 28 million streams on Spotify. “Kung napasikat man ni Morissette yung ‘Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw,’ nagpapasalamat ako kasi part ako ng journey and I partly wrote that song,” Sheryn shared on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda during the September 18, 2024 episode of the showbiz news and talk show.
According to Sheryn, who is dubbed Asia’s Crystal Voice, the song holds sentimental value for her because it reflects her life, particularly her traumatic personal experiences.
“Konting part n’yan about sa buhay ko. Si Kuya Jonathan (Manalo) talaga yung nag-rephrase ng song, Tagalog lahat kasi in English ko sinulat before.
“I’m happy kasi everything’s unexpected kasi sa pagbalik ko nga, Tito Boy, yung ‘Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw,’ nakilala ulit ako bilang Sheryn. Nagpapakilala pa ulit ako.”
“Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw” was part of Sheryn’s comeback album in 2022, coinciding with her return to the Philippines after living in the U.S. for two decades.
