Paolo Contis is optimistic about his new movie
Kapuso actor Paolo Contis is still “good mood” despite the X-rating that his movie Dear Satan received from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
Paolo’s movie received criticism from the online community after the trailer was released. In the movie, the Kapuso actor played the “Satan” character who was trying to influence a kid.
With its title, netizens bashed the movie. After the negative reactions, the production thought of changing the title.
In a statement made by MTRCB chair Lala Sotto, she criticized the theme of the movie. She said that as she is a Christian believer, Dear Satan offended her. In an interview, Paolo defended his movie. He pointed out that the movie has a good story and that people should know the difference between reality and fiction.
Veteran showbiz writer Lolit Solis, who is also the manager of Paolo Contis, shared a write-up about the controversial movie.
Lolit shared that Paolo did not expect that he would be able to make a good movie like this that would become controversial. She added that Paolo thought that everything would be smooth sailing because of the movie’s concept.
However, the writer-talent manager said that Paolo is still in a “good mood” despite the negative reactions to his movie because it is a good project for him.
Meanwhile, in a previous statement, Lolit Solis shared his opinion on projects that Paolo Contis has a Kapuso talent. For her, it seemed that her “alaga” seemed to be not the priority of GMA. Lolit said that as a good actor, Paolo should be given a chance to showcase his talent in a primetime series.
This comment from Lolit came after she watched the GMA Station ID and she saw that Paolo was not there.
