Raquel Pempengco shared these posts about her child
Raquel Pempengco expressed her hope that it is still not too late for her child Charice Pempengco to return.
Charice rose to fame after winning the Little Big Star 2005 third-place award. At that time, singer-actor Sam Concepcion won the grand prize. Despite not winning the grand title from the singing competition which was hosted by Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo, doors of opportunities opened for Charice.
Back then, Charice was starting to achieve international recognition. The singer from the Philippines was featured in The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and the musical television series Glee.
Fans accepted the singer when he had his transition. Charice Pempengco is now known as Jake Zyrus. The transman singer still continued his music career. However, not all people liked his transition, apparently, one of them is his mother Raquel Pempengco.
In her recent Facebook posts, Raquel Pempengco shared her child’s past videos. One video showed a younger Charice/Jake. It was captioned, “Bring back the times.” As Jake Zyrus, the singer ventured into songs with deeper tone. As Charice, the singer was known as a belter.

In the comment section of Raquel’s posts, many netizens expressed that they miss Charice as well, while some recalled the time when the singer was still a contestant in the said singing competition.
In another post, Raquel shared a video clip of Charice/Jake’s acapella performance with foreign singers. “Kung ganito na lang sana boses nya di sana di pa rin xa nawala sa limelight. Di pa naman huli. Habang buhay may pag-asa. It is what it is kahit itago at palitan lulutang pa din,” Raquel wrtoe in the caption of her post.
