GRETCHEN FULLIDO – Filipina anchor and model Gretchen Fullido shared her heartfelt farewell message for Henry Omaga-Diaz.
Henry Omaga-Diaz, one of the four anchors of ABS-CBN’s main news program, TV Patrol, said goodbye to the program on Friday night, August 30. Earlier that day, Omaga-Diaz announced on radio station Radyo 630 (formerly DZMM TeleRadyo) that he would be moving back to Canada to be with his family, who had emigrated there years ago.
Omaga-Diaz mentioned that he had long promised his wife, Gigi, that he would return to Canada permanently but had been postponing it. “‘Oo, next year, uuwi na ko,’ palagi next year…. Matagal na kong nangako, ‘Oo, sasamahan kita diyan.’ Ngayon, tutuparin ko na ‘yung pangako ko sa kanya,” he said.
Despite his move, Henry Omaga-Diaz plans to continue his journalism career, presumably with Kapamilya platforms, in Canada, where there is a large Filipino community.
Gretchen Fullido posted a touching message on Instagram for Henry Omaga-Diaz. The esteemed news anchor expressed how honored she felt to have worked alongside Henry.
In the caption of the post, she wrote: “We Love You & We’ll Miss You, Papa Henry! It was such an honor and pleasure working with you all these years!”
“If only people knew how much fun we had behind the scenes with our TV Patrol family & of course the chikahan portion off cam! Hahaha!
“See you very soon, in Canada @henryomagadiaz! Now you can spend unlimited quality time with tita, with your grandchildren & the whole family!
