Gerald Santos Manager Says GMA Didn’t Support Actor After He Filed Complaint

The manager of Gerald Santos answered this question from a netizen

Rommel Ramilo, the manager of Gerald Santos, stressed that the singer-actor did not receive support from GMA Network after he filed his complaint in 2010.

The online has polarizing comments on what Gerald revealed regarding what he experienced when he was just 15 years old. He revealed during a Senate hearing that he was r@ped by a musical director and he filed a complaint to the management but when they followed up about this a year later, they did not receive a response.

GMA Network stressed in a statement that it took immediate action after Gerald filed his complaint. The media company terminated the musical director.

GMA also said that what Gerald Santos stated in his 2010 complaint was different from what he said during the Senate hearing. In his reply, the singer-actor said that GMA is not his enemy in this fight but the people in the company who got angry because of his revelation.

In a Facebook post, Gerald received a comment from a netizen asking him what more he wanted to happen when GMA already terminated the musical director who allegedly harassed him.

Based on the article in Inquirer, Gerald’s manager was the one who replied to the netizen. Rommel Ramilo stressed that after the singer-actor filed his complaint 19 years ago, GMA did nothing more.

The manager said that GMA could have sent to Gerald’s camp the official result of their investigation together with the official resolution and they could have used these in the formal filing of charges.

Ramilo also pointed out that the responsibility of the network to its talent does not stop when the abuser is already terminated. The talent manager said that GMA could have given Gerald at least psychological and psychiatric support.

Gerald’s manager stressed that the network could have offered its legal team to help the singer-actor explore his legal options because he was a minor when the alleged abuse happened.
