Piolo Pascual grew up during the Marcos era
Kapamilya A-list actor Piolo Pascual said that he is a “Marcos baby” and he grew up in Malacanang.
Piolo is one of the most respected actors of his generation. With his acting prowess, he portrayed different roles with ease that established his name as one of the most sought-after actors.
Throughout the years, he showed his versatility. He has done drama, action, and romantic comedy projects. In every character he does, he really shows his acting caliber.
In a recent interview, Piolo was asked “So, Marcos baby ka?”, based on the article in Bandera. The A-list actor answered, “Yeah. I grew up in Malacañang, just outside.” He was born during Martial Law.
He explained that his mother was working in one of the departments in Malacanang back then. So, the actor grew up in that kind of environment.
Piolo previously mentioned that he wanted to portray the late President Ferdinand Marcos in a movie. He repeated this in another interview and he was bashed because of what he said.
Many Filipinos criticized the Marcos regime and it did not sit well with them that someone like Piolo would want to portray the president who started that era.
In a recent interview, the award-winning actor stressed, “As an actor, as a celebrity, I want to take on something that people will learn from, a story that needs to be told.”
Meanwhile, Piolo Pascual said that he is happy with his career now. For him, he is married to his career. Although he did not expect to be single in this point of his life but he accepts that it is what it is.
The A-list actor also said that he does not want to compromise his career by adding another “thing”. He said that he loves what he is doing and he can’t feel that there is something lacking in his life.
