Maricar Reyes recalled the challenging times she went through
Actress Maricar Reyes revealed why she wrote a book about the controversy she was involved in 2009.
Maricar has been in the entertainment industry for many years but her career went through a tough time. It was when he was involved in a scandal during the time when his career was blooming.
In past interviews, Maricar already shared how she dealt with the controversy and how she moved on from that challenging times.
In a recent interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Maricar Reyes shared why she wrote a book about what happened to her years ago that affected her career and her personal life.
Her book surprised many people because she opened up about something that most people would just bury in their memories because it will just open wounds. However, for Maricar, she saw the need to let her story be known to other people. She said that everything around her that time became “too much.”
The actress said, “What happened, I feel like I’ve been turned inside-out kasi all my life, the way I would do things, the way I would live life na tama, is you try to look good, you do good, external stuff. Basta if you look good, people don’t see the bad stuff you’re doing, you’re okay.”
The actress admitted that her reputation was tarnished and she can do nothing to return what was lost. Eventually, Maricar was able to accept that she has nothing to do about it anymore.
She realized that she needed to work is what is inside of her and not the external factor. The actress is also thankful for the presence of her husband Richard Poon in her life.
Maricar also got inspiration from the women she met. More than the trauma she felt, she said that what burden was the response she had. When asked why she did not mention any name in her book, the actress said there was no need for this and that it happened a long time ago already.
Then, she said that her goal in writing the book is to help other women who went through the same challenging times in their lives.
“And ‘yun nga, the primary purpose of the book is to help women who are also going through dark times. So ‘yun talaga ‘yung purpose ko. At tsaka to show them my journey and then if somebody will learn something, if my journey will help them, eh ‘di, I’ve done my job,” Maricar Reyes said.
