Markus Paterson was in a high-profile relationship with Filipino actress Janella Salvador, with whom he shares a son named Jude. The couple had a public relationship, and their son was born in 2020. Although they eventually separated, they remain co-parents to their child.

On Thursday, Markus discussed the possibility of leaving show business. This came after a reporter at the press conference for his upcoming series “Pretty Boys” asked if he was still considering joining the military in the United Kingdom.

“It was true,” Paterson confirmed.

He explained, “Well I just feel like ‘yung tatay ko kasi is getting a bit older, and I am a family-oriented person kaya parang last year, I spent time with them in the UK kaya inisip ko ‘yun. Of course andito rin kasi ang anak ko, so, work first and family at the same time.”

Paterson mentioned that he’s still thinking about his future, as he wants to take care of both his parents in the UK and his son Jude in the Philippines.

“Ang hirap kasi mag-balance ng both priorities. I did consider it and still considering it,” he said.

However, the actor clarified that he’s seeking the “perfect balance,” which is why he agreed to be part of the cast for the boys’ love series with The Idea First and Vivamax Plus.

“This was a fun project. Before I met the cast, they made me feel welcome and made me feel safe with these two brilliant actors,” he added.
