Gerald Santos released the second part of his revelations
Singer-theater actor Gerald Santos stressed in the title of his second video about his revelations that he has “resibo.”
After Sparkle artist Sandro Muhlach filed a complaint against his alleged harasser GMA independent contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, Gerald recalled his past experience when he was just a newbie in showbiz.
The singer allegedly was harassed by someone who had a high position in GMA when he was just 15 years old. Gerald received opposing comments from the online community. he received a lot of support and sympathy but there were also those who criticized him.
Last week, Gerald Santos released the first part of his revelations. In that video, he also encouraged other victims to speak up to spread awareness that those in position should be watchful of their actions.
In the second part of his revelations, Gerald stressed that it was not his first time to speak about this. He already filed a case against his abuser back in 2010. However, the singer-theater actor said that he was not heard.
The harassment happened when he was 15 years old and he reported this when he was already 19 years old. He admitted that at that time, he and his family were forced to be silent because they knew nothing about the legal matters and the stigma that victims who decide to complain have.
His status in the Kapuso network worsened as he continued to refuse the advances that the harasser was making. Because of that, his projects seldom came. It took him four years to finally have the courage to speak up but he did not get the response he was expecting.
Gerald said that he was ridiculed and labeled “homophobic.” When he took this matter to the management of GMA, he was told that the investigation would happen but about two or three months after that, the network released him.
The singer also showed a document that GMA received a letter from his camp asking for an update a year after on the complaint they filed. However, they got no response.
“Kaya wala po talagang concrete na resolusyon o safeguards that ginawa sila right after this,” he said.
