Jodi Sta. Maria Stays Friends W/ Ex-partner Pampi Lacson Following Their Annulment
JODI STA. MARIA – Celebrity mom Jodi Sta. Maria reiterated her friendship with her ex-husband Pampi Lacson after their annulment.
On June 9, Kapamilya actress Jodi Sta. Maria announced on social media that her marriage to Panfilo “Pampi” Lacson Jr. had been annulled, describing the lengthy process as a “test of faith and trust.”
“Finally after 13 years of waiting, my petition for nullity of marriage has been granted by the Supreme Court,” Jodi revealed.
Jodi Sta. Maria and Pampi Lacson were married in 2005 but separated in 2011. They share a son, Thirdy, born in 2005. Reflecting on her annulment journey, the actress emphasized how her faith sustained her through the ordeal.
“The time I spent in His waiting room was never easy nor was it comfortable. It was frustrating, discouraging, and even heartbreaking. I cried, prayed, questioned and complained,” the actress said. “I made ‘tampo,’ asked for forgiveness, prayed some more. I wanted to give up but He never let go of me.”
Jodi encouraged others in similar situations to trust in God’s plan. She concluded her post by expressing gratitude to her supporters and the Calleja Law Office for their assistance and patience.
Jodi Sta. Maria and Pampi waited 13 years for their annulment to be finalized, but the actress is grateful that despite the outcome, they remained friends. In an “On Cue” interview with ABS-CBN News on its YouTube channel on Wednesday, August 7, Jodi mentioned that Pampi was the first person she called upon learning their annulment was finalized.
“It’s been more than a decade since I filed [for our annulment]. And then, finally, it has been granted… even if napakaayos na ng relationship namin ni Pampi, importante pa rin siya na legally, matapos [na ang marriage namin]. When it was granted, siya unang-una kong tinawagan,” Jodi recalled.
Discussing their conversation, Jodi Sta. Maria shared that she congratulated herself and Pampi on their long-awaited annulment, noting that those who witnessed their journey are “very happy” for them.
“Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘congratulations to us.’ Finally, case closed. I believe ‘yung mga naka-witness ng journey namin, ilan sila sa pinakamasasaya for us. Alam ng mga taong ‘yun how hard we prayed for this one. Matagal siya. Hindi biro,” she said.
While many ex-couples’ relationships deteriorate during the annulment process, Jodi revealed that she and Pampi chose to maintain their “beautiful” relationship out of love for their son, Thirdy.
According to the report, Jodi acknowledged that being in a blended family might “not be ideal” for some, but it shouldn’t be viewed negatively. “Hindi pa rin siya popular na concept ngayon, lalo na sa kultura nating napakaconservative.”
“May mga tumataas pa rin ang kilay at hindi boto sa ganitong setup,” she continued. “But at the end of the day, it’s really to each his own. It’s working for us.”
