Content creator Chloe San Jose, the girlfriend of Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, shared this post after the gymnast released a statement on the conflict between him and his mother Angelica Yulo.
The online community started talking about the rift between Carlos and Angelica when the latter shared a post showing support for the Japanese gymnast, the competitor of her own son.
Angelica allegedly took Carlos’s money without his permission. In her statement, she explained the money issue and stressed that Chloe triggered the conflict between her and her son.
On August 6, Carlos Yulo finally broke his silence on the issue between him and his mother. He shared that the conflict was prompted by how his mother handled and spent his cash incentives without him knowing about it.
The fact that his mother does not like Chloe San Jose as his girlfriend also added fuel to the fire of misunderstanding. In his statement, Carlos also defended Chloe in how she would act and speak, and her manner of clothing.
The gymnast also stressed that his girlfriend grew up in Australia so she is used to a different culture compared to what most Filipinos are used to.
Carlos also clarified that Chloe earns her own money and that she does not need to depend on him when it comes to this aspect. With his and his mother’s opposing views, Carlos said that he has to put boundaries between them.
After that statement, netizens noticed Chloe San Jose’s “BOUNDARIES” post on her Facebook page. She shared a quote saying, “Sometimes, you have to decide, “this is the last time these people are gonna make me feel this way” and stand on it. Whether it’s family, a relationship, or a friendship.”
This was shared on a popular showbiz site and this did not sit well with many netizens. A netizen said that Chloe is loving the attention that she is getting now and some netizens agreed with this. Some also expressed that they do not like that she is intervening in the conflict between Caloy and his mother. On the other hand, there were those who took Chloe’s side.
