Jayda Avanzado talked about having famous parents
Singer-actress Jayda Avanzado reacted to the term “nepo baby” being used to her and other celebrities with famous parents in showbiz.
This term is short for “nepotism baby.” It is the phrase being attached to people who are successful and famous in a certain field and having parents with the same status in the same field.
However, there is a negative connotation to this. There is an implication that since the parents already had connections to one or more specific industries, it was easy for the child to reach the same heights or create connections because of what their parents started.
Jayda Avanzado, being the daughter of OPM icon Dingdong Avanzado and singer-actress Jessa Zaragoza, falls in this category but she did not dwell on the negative implication of the term.
In a recent interview on Luis Listens, the YouTube talk show of TV host Luis Manzano, who also has famous parents, Vilma Santos and Edu Manzano, Jayda shared her thoughts on the “nepo baby” term.
She said that not all people think that they are “nepo baby” but people who think like this tend to discredit them. Luis stressed that they can’t choose who their parents would be and some people think that this is something negative. “We can’t choose families,” he said.
Jayda agreed with him. She said that being a “nepo baby” is a blessing. The singer-actress is happy to be born in a family who supports what she loves to do and they understand how things work in the industry. “We all speak the same language,” she said about her parents.
Jayda Avanzado has established her name as one of the in-demand singers of her generation. She will be one of the guests of Dingdong Avanzado in his upcoming concert.
