Anjo Yllana recalled what happened between him and the Padillas
Actor Anjo Yllana explained what happened in the past issue that occurred between him and Rustom Padilla, who is now known as BB Gandanghari.
Rustom belonged to one of the most popular showbiz clans in the Philippine entertainment industry. During the 90s, just like his brothers, he was known as an action star and did some action-packed movies. However, back then, rumors circulated about his gender identity.
In line with those rumors, a conflict happened between Rustom and Anjo and this started on the set of the 90s hit sitcom Palibhasa Lalake.
In a recent interview on showbiz insider Morly Alinio’s YouTube channel, Anjo Yllana revealed how the issue started. He explained that in the sitcom, their assistant director would command the script reading and the rehearsal before the director would actually shoot the scene.
Anjo shared that their AD would sometimes add lines and they were used to this. Before the take, they would have their rehearsals. Their AD told him to say the line “Si Rustom ay bak….” and his hand was on his mouth after not finishing the sentence. Anjo said that it was based on rumors that their AD heard at that time. The actor said that he had no idea about this at that time.
Knowing that it was a rehearsal and not yet the actual take, he followed their AD. Anjo stressed that during the take, it was different because he would think if what he would say was right or wrong.
Then, the make-up artist heard this and told Carmina Villarroel and Rustom Padilla, who were already a couple at that time, about this. Anjo said that the “sumbong” had no explanation that what he said was from the AD and it was just a rehearsal.
The actor said that was the start of the conflict and since he and Robin Padilla were neighbors the “away” happened.
