Stell Ajero highlights positivity amid the negative comments on social media
SB19’s Stell Ajero reacted to the statements shared by Raquel Pempengco, the mother of Charice Pempengco who is now known as Jake Zyrus.
To recall, Stell performed the song All By Myself at David Foster’s concert last June and this went viral. It was revealed that the P-pop star was just told to perform the song on the day of the concert. He only had a short run-through with David but he slayed the performance.
Because of how he showcased his voice, Stell received praise not just from the fans but from other artists as well.
However, the comment that Raquel Pempengco had regarding Stell Ajero’s performance did not sit well with other netizens.
Raquel said that although Stell did a good job, still he cannot be compared to Charice’s performance. After the negative reactions that she received, Raquel clarified that she has been a fan of Stell and she just learned that he is a member of SB19.
In a recent episode of talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz’s Showbiz Update vlog, he shared his interview with the P-pop star regarding this issue. Stell said that he doesn’t know why people love to compare. For him, every artist has something special to offer.
“Yung pagkukumpara, parang dapat po ata alisin na po natin sa isip natin,” he said, adding that Charice is already Charice and she already left a mark in the music industry. He also stressed that he just did his own interpretation of the song.
Stell said that he understands Raquel’s sentiments because she is a mother. “Sa mga mata ng nanay, anak nila ang pinakamagaling,” the singer said. He said that he can’t blame Charice’s mom for saying this.
The P-pop star also acknowledges Raquel’s opinion because he can do nothing about this. He pointed out that he does not want to spread any negativity. The singer was happy when he read that comment because he thought that he was already being recognized.
“Doon po sa sinabi ng mom ni Charice, wala naman po problem about that,” he said. Stell added that he was not hurt by that. He also reminded the public to stop adding fuel to the fire of negativity by retaliating with another negativity.
“Hindi naman po ako na-hurt or anything kasi sa mata rin naman po ng nanay ko, ako yung pinakamagaling,” Stell Ajero said.
