Boy Abunda Pens Song Dedicated to LGBTQIA+ Community
BOY ABUNDA – Veteran host Boy Abunda wrote a song for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) community.
King of Talk Boy Abunda visited the TiktoClock studio this Tuesday (June 25). At the start of the program, the talk show host cheerfully greeted everyone with “Happy pride” and immediately surprised the Tiktotropa with his special announcement for this Pride Month celebration.
Many were surprised when Tito Boy introduced his new group, THREE, which is composed of solo singers John Mark Saga, Anton Antenorcruz, and Raven Heyres.
The group performed their new song “Bilang,” the lead song of their first LGBT-themed album, Say It Clear, Say It Loud. This is special for Tito Boy because he personally wrote the song, dedicating it to the entire LGBTQIA+ community.
“Nakaka-proud dahil ito po’y isang, hindi naman pakiusap, this is a call to unity, to equality. Ito’y a call to make people realize napakarami po natin. Napakarami po namin at ang sinasabi ko ‘happy pride’ hindi lamang po sa ating mga kaibigan sa LGBTQIA+ community. Happy pride po sa mga nanay, tatay, Kapuso. Happy pride po sa buong mundo. So ang amin lamang, panawagan ng marami, pero maraming bansa pa kasi ay ang hindi nakikita, hindi nararamdaman, hindi naririnig, ang mga LGBTQ people. So patuloy pa rin kaming sumisigaw, kumakanta, sumasayaw, para lamang makita at maramdaman,” Tito Boy explained.
The three singers are also proud to be part of the group because they know it is special and meaningful for the LGBTQIA+ community.
“I’m just really honored to be part of this project kasi alam kong special ito kay Tito Boy and syempre sa aming lahat. Ito ‘yung choice namin and action namin to be seen and I think that’s important this month,” said Saga.
As for Anton, he is happy to be part of the project because it is also the first LGBT-themed album in the country.
He said, “Dahil Pride month ngayon, sobra po akong proud na mapabilang dito sa grupong ito at sa project na ito. At gusto ko magpasalamat kay Tito Boy sa tiwala na binibigay nila sa amin. I think po we are making history today sa pagkanta at sa pag-realease ng kantang ito dito sa TiktoClock.”
Raven added, “Ako naman po personally, na-feel ko ay overwhelm ako sobra and medyo pressured din po kasi newbie lang po ako sa industry and jump po kaagad kay Tito Boy na makaka-work ko po siya kaagad.”
