BASTE DUTERTE – Vice President Sara Duterte revealed that her younger brother, Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte, will run for president in 2028.
In the Philippine political industry, one of the most popular surname is the Duterte. Their family’s patriarch, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, served as the country’s chief executive from 2016 to 2022. Currently, her daughter, Inday Sara, is the Vice President and the recently-resigned Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte resigned as the DepEd Secretary and as the vice chairperson of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict. The Vice President did not disclose her reason for leaving the Cabinet of Pres. Bongbong Marcos.

According to the Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, she learned about it from her mother, Elizabeth Zimmerman-Duterte. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Vice President also revealed that she learned from her mother that Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte will run for president in 2028.
“Ang ingon sa akong mama magdagan ug Senador akong manghod si Baste, sya ang modagan ug President sa 2028,ang ingon sa akong mama mobalik daw ko sa Davao ug mayor,” the Vice President said.
