Ogie Diaz made his move against the case filed by Bea Alonzo
Talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz filed his counter affidavit on the cyber libel case filed by Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo.
To recall, on May 2, Bea filed a complaint against Ogie, showbiz insider Cristy Fermin, and their respective co-hosts. Ogie has Showbiz Update vlogs on YouTube while Cristy’s show is called Showbiz Now Na.
Bea cried foul over the alleged “malicious” and “damaging statements” that the two showbiz insiders had on their shows.
Previously, Ogie Diaz shared his statement on the legal battle started by Bea Alonzo. He said that he respects the actress’s decision because it is her right to file a case. He also stressed that he has no personal anger towards Bea and that he wishes for her happiness.
On May 18, Ogie, along with his co-hosts Mama Loi and Mrena, with their legal counsel, filed a counter affidavit at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court on the cyber libel case filed by the Kapuso actress.
Based on a report by GMA News, Ogie’s legal counsel Atty. Regie Tongol cited that his client is “calling out the Complainant by not clearly stating in her sixteen-page Complaint-Affidavit the specific individuals who altered the specific defamatory statements making it appear it was all Mr. Diaz who made them.”

The lawyer also pointed out that Bea’s camp was not able to show clear and convincing proof of ‘actual malice’ whether in the form of ‘reckless disregard for the truth’ or ill-motive. He said that this is a legal requirement and standard as Bea is a public figure.
As of this writing, the camp of the Kapuso actress has not yet released a statement about Ogie Diaz’s counter affidavit. There is no report also about the action made by Cristy Fermin regarding the case filed by Bea Alonzo.
