CHELSEA MANALO – Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo shared why she did not feel scared of Miss Iloilo Alexie Brooks.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2024 winner is Chelsea Manalo, marking a historic moment as she becomes the first black Filipino-American to represent the nation at the upcoming pageant in Mexico.

Born on October 14, 1999, Manalo is of Filipina descent from her mother’s side and African-American from her father’s. Raised by her mother and stepfather in Meycauayan City, Bulacan, after her parents’ separation, she embarked on her modeling journey at the age of 14.

Chelsea Manalo’s portfolio boasts appearances in various esteemed print magazines, collaborations with renowned fashion designers, and endorsements for commercial brands like MEGA, Preview, Job Dacon, and Mark Bumgarner. While initially aspiring to pursue a career in car racing, Manalo discovered her affinity for modeling over time, eventually developing a passion for the profession that embraced her.

Miss Universe Philippines Chelsea Manalo participated in the program Fast Talk with Boy Abunda recently. One of the topics she and the King of Talk Boy Abunda discussed was about the tough competitors Chelsea allegedly faced in the prestigious beauty pageant in the country, the Miss Universe Philippines 2024.

One of them is the representative from Iloilo City, Alexie Brooks. Abunda asked if Chelsea was scared of Alexie, who is considered one of her closest rivals.

“I wouldn’t say na natakot ako sa kanya. Because she’s my best friend,” Chelsea replied with a smile.

“She is one of those girls that I have always been with since the competition,” she added.

Chelsea explained that although people perceive them as competitors, she can say that they became close to each other.

“Many people might say na alam mo ‘yun may mga competitors kami behind the scenes but it’s never like that. All of us girls are so close ot one another and I hope people would see that behind the stage.”
