Angel Aquino talked about the movie she did with Tony Labrusca
Prominent actress Angel Aquino shared what made her say “yes” to the offer to do the movie Glorious with younger actor Tony Labrusca.
The said movie was released in 2018 and it was about a 52-year-old woman named Glory who found herself having an intimate affair with Niko who is 30 years younger than her. In this film, Angel did some revealing scenes with Tony.
In a recent interview with The Philippine Star, the prominent actress was asked if she lets her children watch her films with this kind of theme.
“I think they catch it on their own. But we never, we really watched those things together. But my da/ring roles, I’m shy,” Angel Aquino shared.
When asked what convinced her to accept the role, Angel shared that she really exposed herself in doing this project. She had to show more than what she had shown in her past projects.
Despite the apprehensions she felt back then, there was one factor that really made her accept the role eventually.
“I wiggled my arms in front of the mirror. I mean, lahat na lang ng negative self-talk nangyayari sa mind ko back then. But then, I did it because I didn’t wanna, I didn’t wanna let down Sir Deo [Endrinal]. He handpicked me for the role,” Angel shared.
On the other hand, Angel said that she does not think that the project was specifically written for her. Since this was under Dreamscape Entertainment, the late Deo Endrinal really had the power to choose who would play the role. Angel said that she had no idea why the late producer chose her.
“And so when he talked to me about it, I’m like, OK, I will not, my balls went into my throat, so I wasn’t sure that I wanted to do it. But then, you know, he had so much faith in me that I didn’t want to let him down,” she shared.
Angel Aquino also shared that she really wanted to work with director Connie Macatuno. Since she had a woman director, the actress said that she just thought to take this as a “baon” when she did the role.
