However, when she was starting, at the time she was trying to establish her own name in showbiz, Lovi Poe also had her fair share of negative comments. She experienced body-shaming before and she recalled about this in a recent interview, based on the article in PEP.

“I remember before when I was starting, I was told I was never gonna make it because I was dark-skinned. I was never gonna make it because I am flat-chested. Yung mga ganoon,” the actress shared.

Lovi said that when she started her career in showbiz, she was just 15 years old, and she was told she would not succeed because she was big and chubby. The actress shared that she received a lot of these negative words.

As an initial reaction, Lovi shared that she would sulk for a couple of days but after that, she was determined to rise and just enjoy herself. This negativity motivated the actress to be the best that she could be.

“Gagalingan ko sa work ko, aalagaan ko ang sarili ko and, you know, things will come true eventually, so don’t let yourself feel down,” she said.

Lovi Poe added that she was so young back then and she did know how to take care of herself. She even shared that she asked her manager what he saw in her. The actress expressed gratitude to people who accepted her and gave her a chance to do projects.
