Ogie Diaz revealed that there were celebrities who borrowed money from him
Talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz shared his experience with celebrities who had “utang” or debt to him.
Ogie has done several job classifications in the entertainment industry. He was an entertainment reporter/writer, showbiz talk show host, comedian/actor, and eventually he became a talent manager with his YouTube channel.
In his Showbiz Update vlog, he would share showbiz news scoops, blind items, and the latest in the entertainment scene.
However, there are times that he would receive negative reactions to what he released on his YouTube channel, just like the cyber libel case that was filed against him by Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo.
In one of his recent social media posts, Ogie Diaz shared his thoughts on celebrities who had “utang” to him. He said that nowadays, the platform has changed when it comes to borrowing money. The talent manager-vlogger said that people have an easy time when they borrow money but when the person whom they borrowed money from asks for payment, things change.
Ogie also shared that there was someone who asked him if there were celebrities who borrowed money from him. “Meron! Oo naman!” he said.
He revealed that he has a former talent who borrowed money from him. That celebrity asked him to just diminish a certain amount from the talent fee as a payment for the debt.
“Nu’ng pinautang mo, ang lambing. Tapos, nu’ng sinisingil sa balanse (konti na lang naman), sabi ba naman, ‘Sobra-sobra pa nga ang ibinabayad ko, eh. Hindi ko sinisingil sa inyo ang mga raket ko. Bayad na ‘ko.’ Raket? Me listahan naman,” he said.
He told her road manager to stop asking for payment from that celebrity and that celebrity has no career now.
Another former talent also borrowed money from him but this celebrity paid P5,000 every month just to return the money. Ogie also revealed that he had a friend who owed him money but when he asked for the payment, that friend said that a lot of items were sent to his house already.
“Malay ko ba sa mga ipinapadala niyang kung ano-ano sa bahay na ang buong akala ko eh regalo lang niya at ‘yung ibang mga ginagastos niya sa mga paglabas-labas namin na madalas, nakikipag-unahan pa ako sa pagbunot ng bayad, yun pala, may listahan ang potah,” he said.
With this, Ogie said that in some instances when he would have “parinig” to people who would treat him and offer to pay for his food. “Baka maisumbat pagdating ng araw. Lalo na pag di mo napautang o kaya ay sila pa ang galit pag sinisingil mo,” he said.
Ogie Diaz added that there were times he wanted to reveal on social media the identity of celebrities who have “utang’ to him. However, he can’t do that because, “Mabasa naman ng mga anak nila, tapos, maging kahihiyan pa nila ‘yung magulang nilang best actor nu’ng nangungutang at best supporting actor naman nu’ng sinisingil na.”
