Dina Bonnevie and Vic Sotto’s wedding was fake
Seasoned actress Dina Bonnevie talked about her love story with Eat Bulaga host Vic Sotto and their fake wedding.
Dina and Vic’s relationship was blessed with two children Danica Sotto and Oyo Boy Sotto. The seasoned actress recalled how her love story with her ex-husband started and what they went through.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Dina revealed that she did not fall in love with Vic, but she grew in love with him.
The award-winning actress shared that their love story started in 1981. She was just 19 years old back then and her popularity as a Regal Baby was starting to bloom.
Dina Bonnevie and Vic Sotto got married but they found out that the ceremony was fake. “Supposed to be, ikinasal kami, pero hindi naman pala totoo yung kasal. Kasi yung nagkasal sa amin was a clerk of court, which we didn’t know,” the actress revealed.
After that, they eloped. They were doing a show at that time, the Lucky Stars. Vic asked her to just live with him and she agreed with this.
Dina admitted that falling in love with Vic did not come immediately. “I grew in love. There’s a difference. Kasi when you fall in love, you fall in love, then ‘I’m so in love. He’s so pogi and all these,'” she said.
The actress explained that she did not like Vic’s personality at first. For her, Vic was not that good-looking because, for Dina, her ex-boyfriend Alfie Anido was the handsome one.
However, eventually, the actress fell for Vic. “But then, iba when you grow in love, kasi you’re beginning to see his good points. Okay naman pala siya. He’s kind, he’s magalang, he loves his mother a lot, he respects his kuyas,” she shared.
Dina also shared that she saw Vic’s good heart. After growing in love with Vic, she became possessive. She started demanding more time from the comedian and this was not what she was like before.
“Baligtad na. Samantalang yung una, ‘Ha! God, no!’ Naalaala ko, sabi ko pa dati, ‘Why do you have a lot of toilet jokes? Really? I am so sick of hearing them, do you mind?’ Ganyan pa ako!’” Dina Bonnevie said.
Meanwhile, the actress also revealed that she was offered to be a leading lady of Hollywood actor Mel Gibson but she did not accept this offer.
