Dimples Romana talked about her character in a new project
Kapamilya actress Dimples Romana shared how she prepared for her role in the series High Street, the sequel to the series Senior High.
Dimples is one of the new cast members added to the continuation of the story of the series featuring young stars Andrea Brillantes, JK Labajo, Xyriel Manabat, Zaijian Jaranilla, Elijah Canlas, Daniela Stranner, and many more.
In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Dimples shared that she pondered well before accepting the role of company Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Victoria “Tori” Soler.
“The preparations are more psychological, kasi parang this time you want to attack it in a way that is mas textured,” Dimples Romana explained. She knows that accepting a TV series project will take more of her time and she will have a lesser time for her family.
This is the reason why the actress wants a project that is worth her valuable family time. She considered that this project would make her eldest child Callie to be proud of her. Another factor she considered was her hosting stint in the TV5 morning show Gud Morning Kapatid.
“‘Yung preparation namin nila Direk Onat [Diaz] and Direk Lino [Cayetano] mas conversations about how to pace the character. For my character, it has to mean something at some point, and dapat ‘yung ‘di ko pa nagagawa dati,” Dimples said.
For her the more challenging part of growing up in the entertainment industry is not the competition with other artists but the competition with herself. She needs to outdo her last performance.
Dimples Romana also expressed her hope that the viewers will see her in High Street as Tori and not her previous roles like Daniela in Kadenang Ginto or Selene in The Iron Heart.
In an interview last April, the actress admitted that going back to acting, she had “paninibago” because it has been months since her last acting project.
