Sharon Cuneta and Kiko Pangilinan spoke about the case they filed against Cristy Fermin
Megastar Sharon Cuneta and former Senator Kiko Pangilinan shared their thoughts and feelings after filing a cyber libel case against veteran showbiz insider Cristy Fermin.
On May 10, the couple officially filed a complaint against the showbiz insider at the Makati City Prosecutors Office. This was the third cyber libel complaint against Cristy this year alone.
In an interview posted on PEP’s YouTube Channel, Kiko Pangilanan said that even though they are public figures, they still have private rights, especially when the issues being raised do not concern the public.
Sharon Cuneta seconded this. She also stressed that the malicious issues raised against them also affected their children and these caused her sleepless nights.
The Megastar also shared that she reached out to Cristy Fermin in 2021 with her decision to make peace with everybody. “I had so much affection for her, kasi feeling ko ang tanda na natin, ang tanda ko na. I was only looking for good points with people,” Sharon said.
However, the actress-singer said that she was just shocked that after a while, when issues surfaced, her side was not even asked.
She also stressed that she does not want to be in this situation but many people forget that even though they are celebrities or public figures, they also get hurt with the negative things being thrown at them.
“Hindi niyo naman kami kilala, nakikita niyo lang kami,” Sharon said. When the actress-singer was asked what particular issue prompted them to file the case against Sharon, Kiko, as a lawyer, hindered her from sharing the details.
Sharon Cuneta also shared during the interview that she has been lenient on past write-ups made by Cristy Fermin against her, and it has piled up already. However, she is choosing to take the legal action now, which she did not do years ago.
