Kathleen Hermosa Shares Experience W/ Second Pregnancy Loss
KATHLEEN HERMOSA – Former actress Kathleen Hermosa opened up about her second miscarriage.
Kathleen Hermosa and her non-showbiz husband Miko Santos couldn’t contain their joy when the former actress tested positive on a pregnancy test on March 2, 2024. After a few days, their OB-gynecologist confirmed that the fetus had a heartbeat.
However, during their follow-up consultation after a month, the OB-gynecologist revealed that the fetus’s heartbeat had stopped. This is the second time Kathleen’s pregnancy didn’t push through.
On November 2, 2023, Kathleen Hermosa revealed in an Instagram post that she had a miscarriage during her first pregnancy. She was supposed to have triplets as her firstborn.
Kathleen referred to her latest pregnancy as “our fourth angel.” She was emotional the second time her pregnancy failed.
She shared her journey in a series of videos this week on her YouTube channel.
Kathleen didn’t waste any time in re-recording the videos of her “journey” in her second pregnancy. She said it was so she could revisit them someday. Her approach to recording her content was very raw.
She said it was on March 2, 2024, when the pregnancy test came out positive, which brought joy to her loved ones.
At that time, Kathleen was still in Manila to attend the baptism of the youngest child of Pauleen Luna and Vic Sotto on March 4, 2024. Kathleen’s sister Kristine Hermosa is married to Oyo Sotto, Vic’s son. After the baptism, Kathleen and her husband Miko returned to Cebu, where they are based.
In the subsequent videos, Kathleen showed the changes in her routine and habits as she prepared for the upcoming baby, indicating how excited they were. During their first appointment with the OB-gynecologist, it turned out the fetus had a heartbeat and was developing.
Their follow-up checkup was on April 4. Here, the doctor informed them of the sad news that the fetus no longer had a heartbeat due to congenital thrombophilia.
In one video, Kathleen video-called her sister Kristine to share the sad news.
Kathleen told her sister, “Tumigil yung heartbeat. May heartbeat na nung una, lumaki din yung baby.
“Lumaki na siya, e… may limbs na. So, nag-form. Pero tumigil. Nawala yung heartbeat.
“Ang ibig sabihin nung congenital thrombophilia, humihinto yung supply ng dugo ng mommy sa fetus, sa baby.”
Kathleen also mentioned that the doctor told her her uterus was healthy. The doctor also reminded her that for her next pregnancy, she would need 10 months of bed rest.
Kathleen is trying to stay positive despite what happened. The couple also had an emotional conversation about the loss of their “fourth” baby. She also prayed to be enlightened about the reason for what happened.
