Pastor Quiboloy: VP Sara Duterte Hit Again For ‘Coddling’ Controversial Preacher

ACT Teachers Solon Condemns Vice President Sara Duterte for “Coddling” Pastor Quiboloy

PASTOR QUIBOLOY – ACT Teachers Representative criticizes Vice President Sara Duterte for “sheltering” controversial preacher Apollo Quiboloy instead of urging him to address the accusations leveled against him.

Quiboloy faces the risk of being held in contempt and arrested for his refusal to attend congressional investigations concerning allegations of human trafficking and s*xual abuse of minors, as well as inquiries into the franchise status of the Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI).

The network is on the brink of losing its congressional franchise due to serious breaches, including the dissemination of false information, involvement in Red-tagging activities, and corporate infractions.

Sara Duterte has urged lawmakers conducting separate congressional hearings involving Quiboloy to refrain from portraying him as already guilty. She views the challenges faced by the pastor as a form of unjust persecution.

Based on a report from Inquirer, ACT Teachers Representative France Castro again criticized Vice President Sara Duterte on Sunday for “coddling” Apollo Quiboloy instead of encouraging him to address the allegations leveled against him.

“Doesn’t Vice President Duterte know about the numerous cases against Quiboloy here and in other countries?” Castro asked in a statement.

“Even in other countries, there are cases of women and child abuse, and even involvement in exporting firearms, etc.,” she said in Filipino.

“It seems that Vice President Duterte is setting a very bad example because we believe she’s coddling Quiboloy, who is an accused child rapist,” Castro added.

However, Quiboloy’s representatives asserted their readiness to respond to the criminal charges in a legitimate court of law, but not before congressional entities which, they argued, have already formed biased opinions against him.

In response, the Vice President issued a video statement asserting that the allegations against Quiboloy constituted acts of “violence” and amounted to a “trial by publicity.”

“In the hearings conducted, it seems like Pastor Quiboloy has already been given a guilty verdict, even though these hearings are only based on the allegations of witnesses who conceal their identities, and the credibility cannot be proven,” Duterte said.

Quiboloy has ignored separate summonses from both the Senate and the House of Representatives, where allegations against him have surfaced.

In the Senate, Quiboloy faces accusations ranging from human trafficking and labor violations to s*x offenses.

These accusations have led the Department of Justice to instruct prosecutors to file charges of child abuse and human trafficking against Quiboloy and five of his associates.
