Here’s Pauline Amelinckx Reaction To Chocolate Hills Resort

PAULINE AMELINCKX – Boholana beauty queen Pauline Amelinckx gave her two cents amid the much-criticized resort constructed within the Chocolate Hills.

The resort named Captain’s Peak Resort, situated in the Chocolate Hills, gained widespread attention on social media following the circulation of a tourist video despite lacking accreditation or an application for one from the Department of Tourism.

The Chocolate Hills, designated as a protected area since July 1, 1997, through Proclamation No. 1037, saw the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) take action by issuing a temporary closure order and a notice of violation against the establishment.

Many social media users expressed concern over how such construction was permitted in a protected area, emphasizing the importance of preserving this natural wonder and highlighting potential environmental risks posed by the resort.

Following the viral spread of the photos and ensuing online discussions, the DENR issued an official statement. In their statement released on March 13, Wednesday, DENR clarified that in 2023, they had indeed issued a temporary closure order to the resort.
