Sylvia Sanchez shared her experience working with younger celebrities
Veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez shared how she reacted to “bastos” younger celebrities on the set of a certain project.
Sylvia has been in the entertainment industry for many years. Her versatility and longevity are among the reasons why younger generations of artists look up to her. However, in a recent interview on actress-politician Aiko Melendez’s YouTube channel, based on the article in Abante, Sylvia also had unpleasant encounters with younger artists.
The award-winning actress shared that she experienced younger artists who were just ignoring her on the set.
Sylvia Sanchez said that unlike during their younger years, they would get excited when there was a senior star.
“Noon kasi kapag alam nating seniors, tuwang-tuwa tayo, lumalapit tayo, nagpapakilala tayo. Ngayon sorry, pero naranasan ko ito, at narinig ko rin ito sa mga co-actors na naranasan din nila, na maraming artista ngayon na dinadaanan-daanan lang sila,” Sylvia shared.
On the other hand, she said that there were also younger celebrities who were kind to her.
When Aiko asked her what she did when these younger stars just passed by and ignore her without saying just a simple “hi,” Sylvia said that she would just say that the younger star should make to show commendable performance during takes.
“Dinadaan-daanan ako, okey, sige, mamaya, sa eksena, humanda ka. Galingan mo, ha! Ganun lang ako. Hahahahaha!” Sylvia said.
Aiko said that some younger stars would say that they are just shy to approach the senior stars. Sylvia said that it more shameful to just ignore the senior stars than to just say a simple greeting.
The veteran actress also shared that among the younger stars who she worked with, former Eat Bulaga host Julia Clarete was among the most respectful. Sylvia Sanchez also told her children, Arjo and Ria Atayde to be respectful toward their fellow celebrities.
Meanwhile, Sylvia is happy that Ria got engaged to Zanjoe Marudo. The veteran actress was also a happy mom when Arjo got married to Maine Mendoza.
