A controversy surrounding the victory of Michelle Dee in MUPH surfaced
Is it true that the winner of the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 was already predetermined to be Michelle Dee?
Michelle’s pageant journey was well-celebrated by fans. She first joined Miss World Philippines and was able to represent the country in the international pageant. Then, she joined the MUPH in 2022 but she did get the crown.
Michelle did not give up and joined again with her “Dee pa tapos” hashtag. For her second try, she won and raised the Philippine flag in the Miss Unvierse 2023 pageant.
Sadly, Michelle Dee was not able to reach the Top 5 level of the prestigious beauty pageant but for her supporters and loved ones, she was the big winner.
On the other hand, in a recent article by entertainment writer Salve Asis in Pilipino Star Ngayon, it was said that controversy surfaced questioning the credibility of Michelle’s victory as the crowned MUPH 2023.
“Ba’t kaya may kumakalat na intrigang ang panalo diumano ng Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) Michelle Dee last year ay predetermined na raw bago pa man magsimula ang pageant o ang finals,” the columnist said.
Asis added that this was the alleged reason why MUPH is suffering from financial problems because of this. The writer shared that this story came from a former staff member of Michelle who worked with her during the MUPH competition.
Allegedly, before the announcement of the Best in Gown award, there was already an instruction that Michelle would be the winner.
Asis suggested that this controversy apparently surfaced because the MUPH 2024 competition is about to start.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Michelle Dee said that she is the most bashed MUPH winner. “I was trending for weeks on the negative side. Of course, it is a natural occurrence after a pageant,” she said.
