Calvin Abueva Engaged in Verbal Confrontation with the Wife of Mo Tautuaa
Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player Calvin Abueva engaged in a heated verbal confrontation with the wife of Mo Tautuaa.
“The Beast,” Calvin Abueva, found himself in another controversy involving Moala Tautuaa’s wife, leading to a tense confrontation. On Sunday, February 4, 2024, the second game of the finals between Magnolia Hotshots and San Miguel Beermen took place, heating up the competition.
The game was marked by intense personal taunting. Following the match, disturbances extended beyond the court as a verbal altercation ensued involving Calvin Abueva, Mo Tautuaa, and their respective spouses, mere minutes after Game Two concluded.
The incident occurred following San Miguel’s 109-85 victory over Magnolia, giving the Beermen a 2-0 lead in the finals series. Abueva and his wife attempted to confront Tautuaa and his wife in the SM Mall of Asia Arena hallway, but coaches and security intervened to prevent further escalation.
According to a post on X/Twitter by Tautuaa’s wife Aida, the incident began when she encountered Abueva while heading to the bathroom, alleging that he smiled at her. Abueva, however, denied smirking and claimed that it was Tautuaa’s wife who showed disrespect by leaving the Mall of Asia Arena. He questioned why he would engage in such behavior, especially considering his role as a father.
Videos circulating showed Abueva and Mrs. Abueva wanting to confront Mo Tautauaa’s wife, but officials managed to separate the two parties. Abueva even challenged Tautuaa, his former teammate during their time with Gilas Pilipinas in the Asian Games, to a match.

A shameful incident..professional basketball players behaving as kids ..not to mention the wives as well. PBA should not only have PBA players meted with penalties, but, be dismissed from PBA definitely..a strict lesson to be learned from all the PBA players and coaches..
