Janno Gibbs revealed that his father was still alive when police arrived at their house
Singer-actor Janno Gibbs narrated what happened after his father Ronaldo Valdez was found bloodied inside his room.
In a recent press conference Janno and his legal counsel Atty. Lorna Kapunan spoke about the death of Ronaldo and the things that happened concerning the late veteran actor.
Based on the article in Bandera, Janno shared that his father is living with him. When the incident happened, he was sleeping in the next room and he woke up when his driver knocked on the door to tell him about what happened to his father.
Immediately, their barangay captain arrived, as well as, the police and the ambulance. “Because he was still breathing. He was still alive. So, first to arrive was a police officer from the nearby station,” Janno Gibbs said.
That police officer was the one who took the video that was leaked online. Janno asked what’s that for and the police officer said it was for evidence. The singer thought that it was part of the protocol and so, he let that happen.
“And then, ambulance came and we brought him to the hospital where he stayed alive pa for quite some time actually. And then he passed,” Janno shared. When he was about to pay the hospital bill, he was asked by officers from the Quezon City Police District to go back to the scene of the incident and he complied.
Then, Janno, his driver, and a “kasambahay” who was taking care of Ronaldo personally went to a paraffin test. The result was negative for the three of them. This was the same day as the incident and he received a text message from his wife Bing Loyzaga that their statement and their personal information like their address were already circulating.
“So I told the police I was with. Sabi ko, ‘Ano to?!’ Ang sagot sa akin, ‘Naku, Sir! Di natin maiiwasan yan, e! Kasi, pinapasa talaga namin sa mga superior at sa iba’t ibang ano. Hindi talaga maiiwasan,’” the singer said.
However, Atty. Kapunan stressed that this is not right because as the investigation is ongoing, information should not be leaked. “Meron tayong privacy ng family. Meron din tayong Confidential Data Information. So mishandling talaga,” the lawyer said.
Janno Gibbs demanded the QCPD issue a public apology.
