The Google Pixelbook Go (2019) is a lightweight and easily portable 13-inch Chromebook. It features impressive up-firing speakers with high volume, a quality 1080p webcam for video calls, and a satisfactory keyboard coupled with an excellent trackpad. Similar to other Chrome OS devices, its limitation lies in the inability to run x86 desktop applications, allowing usage primarily for the Chrome browser, Linux apps, and Android apps from the Google Play Store.
Equipped with Intel 8th Gen Y-series processors, the Pixelbook Go handles light productivity tasks efficiently but may not be optimal for heavier workloads. Its battery sustains a full 8-hour workday on a single charge, and despite generating some heat under load, its fanless design ensures complete silence.
Ideal for media consumption, the Pixelbook Go boasts a sharp 1080p screen, with an optional 4k display available on the Core i7 model. The model exhibits near-full sRGB coverage, decent color accuracy out of the box, and sufficient brightness to combat glare in most settings. The up-firing speakers deliver clear and loud audio, although, like many laptops, there is a noticeable absence of bass. For video playback, the battery endures an entire day.
