Netizens expressed dismay that Jake Ejercito is not Kim Chiu’s leading man in this series
Kapamilya actor Jake Ejercito became a trending topic on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday after it was announced that Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino are the lead stars in the Pinoy adaptation of the K-Drama series What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim.
Many netizens were surprised that Kim’s leading man in WWWSK was not Jake. ABS-CBN officially announced On November 21 that Kim and Paulo will lead the cast of the Pinoy adaptation of the popular series from South Korea.
Prior to this project, Kim and Paulo worked together on the Prime series Linlang. Their tandem received a warm welcome from fans. Following this project, rumors surfaced that Kim and Paulo have a romantic relationship.
Jake Ejercito and Kim Chiu worked together in the series Fit Check: Confessions of an Ukay Queen months ago. Fans expected that this project would be followed by another series, however, many were dismayed that Kim’s leading man in WWWSK is not Jake.
Days prior to the announcement, X user @angeldoodskie shared a screenshot of a post on Instagram showing that Jake is the leading man in WWWSK. The logo of the show was posted, and Jake and Kim’s IG pages were tagged.
This was followed by the actor’s photo wearing a suit. Apparently, it was a behind-the-scenes shot of the photo shoot that he had for the said series.
On the other hand, netizens expressed shock when it was Paulo Avelino. There were those who said that it was “sayang” because this could introduce Jake as a leading man while some said that ABS-CBN should have chosen a different pair.
Some pointed out that Linlang really had an impact and so ABS-CBN wants to continue the popularity of Kim and Paulo’s tandem. Here are some comments on X.
